The Epilogue 03:59
We were in the middle when we fell, Welcome to The Epilogue my love, Welcome to my hell. But don't lose sight of what The Wise Man he said, "Don't let your soul die before you are dead." Our love grew tired, but babe never old Our love grew heavy, but babe never cold Don't lose sight of what The Wise Man told, "Every story needs an ending," Let our story unfold I've been dreaming Of that cold, sweet evening When you will lay down by my side Darling, there is no need to go this alone, These walls are crumbling But these walls are my home Don't lose sight of what The Wise Man cried, "Don't lose yourself in your foolish pride" I've been dreaming Of that cold, sweet evening When you will lay down by my side This ending is restless, It's time we re-pen this I've been dreaming

Thin Dimes 04:20
Slow, But faster than you would ever know The turning of the tides, The burning of the axis below Wait, Waiting ever-patiently, And I was just uh thinking Maybe we could give it go? How I am calling out for more Thin dimes, Deadlines, I won't be the won To sit here on my hands and be dealt the deck that's already been done How I am calling out for more Fool Me, Fool Me, Good Lord you never can, I'll resist the fight and I won't be another cog of The Man I was just uh thinking Maybe we could give it go? How I am calling out for more Now I am calling out for more

Sleepwalking 02:36
I went sleepwalking, The other night Before you woke me from my soul and my slumber, Baby don't you know you are putting us under again? So where do you get off? Telling me it's alright When you know that just ain't so. I went night swimming, In the ocean, blue, The lightning silhouetted everything I thought I knew about you. So where do you get off? Telling me you're leaving Don't you know we need you? We need you We need you now, More than ever before.

Chemicals and synapse moving music through my mind Needle scratching record, scratching sweetly, Beat on time, But the record keeps skipping if the grooves ain't right, My days are numbered But I will love you if I can keep the melody right You were snapping photographs I was looking cool Changing out the lenses for an aperture that suites But a camera's just a compass when exposure ain't right My days are numbered but I will love you if I can find the right light Keep time of the withering time Cool dreams in black and white Take me to the river and dunk me down twice We've been penning pages on the notebooks left behind Crossing out the wrong words on the fundamental lines Because a novel ain't a novel if the binding's too tight My days are numbered but I will love you if I can keep the syntax right Keep time of the withering time Cool dreams in black and white Take me to the river and dunk me down twice My days are numbered My days are numbered My days are numbered My days are numbered

about

Some stories contain an epilogue; a final chapter that summarizes the fate of its characters. Some do not. The songs that comprise "The Epilogue" were written in a time of uncertainty and finality for many of the characters who appear on the album, who tell their own unique stories in their own unique narration.

It was recorded in the winter of 2011 in the confines of a very tiny, well-decorated basement in Bloomington, Indiana.
